The Cat Proposed is another one of those greatly focused BL stories where there are few if any side stories or side couples. I thought it worked well for this story especially based on how beat down and worn out Souta is in life and how Kihachi is seemingly afraid to get too close to anyone. With both characters having burdens they carry, they do or did need time to get through these issues on their own and with each other before the lovey dovey stuff can happen.Mixing in the supernatural with Kihachi being a cat boy along with Souta being a normal everyday overworked office worker led to an interesting blend that helped to show Souta a whole new world where he could rest and enjoy life. The creative characters introduced, the storytelling from the kodan storyteller, and just the domestic bliss of friends slash partners was a blast to read. I enjoyed every moment.While its low on the love making scale, it makes up for it in the cuteness department. How Souta experienced a whole new life, formed a friendship, and also experienced what it was like to be a cat person was great. Further, how he retained the purring whenever he had feelings was the cutest. In terms of the love making, did enjoy having a lead who couldn’t get it up, was the first I’ve seen it taken in this type of way. It is actually scary thinking overwork can do it…but I’m glad they found a way to make it work in their relationship.Overall, loved this story, and wish we had more cat boy stories. Was good.Do wish the writer went through with having Souta become a cat boy, story was literally begging for it.
